2019 U5-U7-U9-U11-U13 Mixed
Welcome to BRFC!
Join us for an exciting BRFC mini season!
All new players welcome! Rugby! It's for EVERYONE!
Our Beaconsfield Mini Rugby season runs from mid-May to the end of July. Players registered in U9-U11-U13 enjoy one fun practice per week and attend 5 local Jamborees. Our U5 and U7 teams enjoy one practice per week. New to U7 this season is the introduction of practice only in order to develop their rugby skill while having a great time! Throughout the season treats pop up at practice- juice boxes, pretzels, freezies are always refreshing after a hot day! We cap off the season with a BBQ and an end of season rugby 'fun' practice including the very popular Beaco obstacle course and slip and slides enjoyed by coaches and players alike! Come join us for a summer of fun!
Practices are held at Beaconsfield High School on Monday evenings starting in May. First practice TBA
U5: Come join the rugby fun this summer in our U5 introduction to mini rugby playgroup! Our youngest mini's are the highlight of Monday evening practice! Learning new skills and having fun is what this group is all about! BRFC works to maintain a 1:5 coach to player ratio in order to ensure an organized, safe and absolutely awesome environment for mini rugby fun!
Fees: $70 payable at our April registration sessions or at the field prior to practice. Fees include BRFC practice T

U7: Our 2019 U7's program will devote their practice time to learning the basics of rugby while having an awesome time! We look forward to this age grade and watching them progress over the season.
New this season: U7's will have practice every Monday evening and will have intrasquad scrimmages (instead of attending jamborees) in order to prepare them for U9. This will allow our young players to learn their beginner rugby skills while being guided by our dedicated U7 coaches eager to see each player succeed. Our newly restructured U7 program will allow for each player to learn the rugby basics and build their rugby confidence!
U9: Our 2019 U9 program is a weekly skills-based rugby training session complemented by attending 5 jamborees. Using the Rookie Rugby Guidelines for flag rugby the U9 age grade will enjoy a summer full of team and skill building activities. A fantastic opportunity to learn the rules of the game while at the same time having a great practice with team mates! Emphasis on having fun and working as a team is key to our success at this level.
Coach: Tim Brown
U11: Our U11's will Focus on rugby development. Intro to contact will include the progression of tackling (below the shoulders) as taught in practice for use in jamboree games when both the coaches and league deems appropriate. 8 players on the field during match play, introduction of uncontested scrum 3v3. Look to our U11's for great team work and skill development!
*Tackling is progressively introduced throughout the season according to the Laws of Rugby and Rookie Rugby Guidelines.
Coach: Bryan Dauphinee
U13: Our 2019 U13's are a truly dynamic age grade! Skills are being developed, team work and understanding the game of rugby are all evolving as your player moves to the next level of rugby! The U13 Rookie Rugby Guidelines outline the natural progression of the game all the while encouraging the individual's development as a player. This age grade offers the player an opportunity to experience 12 players a side, uncontested scrums 6v6, introduction to the maul and finally introduction of the red card in match play. Exciting transitions from U11! In 2019, Girls will have an opportunity to play teams of 7. Boys and mixed teams will play 13's.
